I have been gone from blogging for quite a long time. This is where my heart is. I read other blogs, and I miss sharing. I miss having a conversation with others. I want to thank those subscribers who are still part of the blog even though there has not been a steady flow of content.
Just some updates about me. I am back in college pursuing a master's degree. For my job, I had a timeline of 5 years to complete it, and I waited until the last two years for it to happen. I was enjoying my family so much that I had a fear it would take me away from them. With the help of my husband, I balance it but not to the point of perfection.
Over the past two years, changes such as having a stepdaughter living with me full time, crafting more because I have a Cricut, and penny shopping at dollar general have all come to be additions I did not think would happen. I am slowly getting back into the groove of life and doing things just for me. I neglected myself far too long.
So this past weekend, my daughter and I attended the 2018 Pine Belt Women's Expo. The Expo is held in Hattiesburg, Mississippi every year. I attended in 2016 but not in 2017. I jumped at the chance to get my tickets for this year. The event includes meeting different vendors and organizations in the community that align with a woman's wellbeing or general living. It features demonstrations such as self- defense, financial planning workshops, and many other informational exhibits and seminars. There is even free childcare provided for the first hour. There are many chances to win door prizes, receive giveaways, and other goodies. I enjoy seeing many of the businesses in the community and get to know about any new opportunities and products they are providing.
My daughter and I have decided that we will attend the event yearly as a tradition for a mother and daughter day out. Here are some fun photos from the event. The great face painting was done by LynnsEvents. My daughter is 12 and was proud to display her wonder woman design around town even after we left to continue with our day out.
DO YOU ATTEND A SIMILAR EVENT IN YOUR CITY OR TOWN? WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
