With all the news headlines surrounding our youth and how they somehow for one way or the other fail to find a way to cope with the stress and the changing atmosphere of becoming or being a teen, of course suicide is on the rise. Suicide is one of the leading cause of death for hundreds of thousands of people. This is especially close to me because being a teen is suppose to be a rewarding and very good experimental time of life for everyone. To see many of our youth, cutting their lives short because of the challenges and seeing many of our youth being problems for their peers is very disturbing.

I often think of suicide as the silent killer. It can come from a variety of directions- at home, at school, on the job, in their social life, in society, and in general. Positive experiences and fulfilling relationships help lower the risk factor for suicide. Having few of those will put a youth at greater risk. Often times, we as adults say  "They are just going through a phase". That may be true but in this day and age, we need to look a little closer and dig a little deeper. We should not let their fear (most often leading to angry outbursts toward us) stop us from offering encouragement and help. Help them open up. Be patient with them. Help them with their self esteem by talking to them about appreciating any uniqueness they may have.

So do you want to help a teen you know who may need help with dealing with the stress of teenagerism (that is what I call that particular time in life).

Well here are some prizes for you to give to a youth:

It is back to school time and reading is back in. I recently found some great new hardback and paperback books for .02 cents at my local shopping center. Books on audio are also awesome. Every parent knows that kids’ brains are like sponges, soaking up drops of information and words (even the four-letter ones we don’t always want them to). But did you know that 85 percent of what we learn, we learn by listening? According to the Audio Publishers Association, listening increases reading accuracy by 52 percent, and combining print and audio increases memory 40 percent over print alone. is making it easier (and more fun!) for kids to expand their vocabularies, increase reading speed, improve fluency, and teach pronunciation. No matter what genre your child gravitates towards, has lots of exciting kids content that can be enjoyed while waiting for appointments, before bedtime, and during car rides (the age-old question “Are we there yet?” will become a thing …

All Natural Feels So Breezy!

I was not compensated for this post. I received the products from winning a public giveaway. All opinions are my own.

Last week I received a congratulations email. I had not been entering giveaways in quite some time with school, home, and work duties taking up a lot of my time. The email notified me that my name was selected as a 'Be SUN SMART with GRATEFULBODY' Giveaway WINNER! The giveaway was hosted by The All Natural Beauty Website.

I received 4 great products. The GRATEFUL BODY products I was awarded were the Seven Powers serum, Sunny Facial toner, Nourish Moisturizer and Essential Cleanser. I am so blessed. Shipping was very fast.

I had been looking for a skincare regimen that included an awesome moisturizer, toner, and even serum. My skincare routine only included cleanser. I know it is so sad to say. I am quite impressed with the quality of the products. I am not used to a cleanser without suds but the cleaner did leave my face feeling refreshed and clean. The toner i…
